MYSTIC NILE - The Egyptian Collection - Osirus

Osirus is the Ancient Egyptian God of the Dead.  His father, Geb, is the Earth Father, while his mother, Nuit, is the Goddess of the Night Sky.  His consort, Isis,  is the Goddess of femininity, motherhood and eternity.  It is said that Osirus is the one who taught humanity how to pray to the Gods, making him the founder of religion and spirituality.  Osirus was the first king of Egypt, and taught his subjects the art of agriculture.  He taught them the art of raising grain and grapes, providing them with wine, beer and bread.  After he raised up his subjects in this way, he left Egypt to teach his arts to the rest of the world.  When he returned he was attacked by nobles who were jealous of his position.  They killed him and cut his body into pieces.  Isis searched the world to find his remains.  She called on several several deities to help her in a powerful ceremony in which her magical powers were used to restore Osirus to life.
